triple j features Miiesha’s ‘Nyaaringu’ as album of the week following Requestival
After an incredible week of nothing but requests during triple j’s Requestival, Miiesha’s Nyaaringu takes the spotlight in this weeks additions.
This past week saw triple j put on their first ever Requestival, which saw nothing but requests being played for a solid week between the hours of 6AM and 9PM.
The Requestival took on quite a few turns, from playing Sticky Fingers despite them being blacklisted, and all sorts of oddball requests like tunes from Disney’s Mulan, the ‘Round The Twist theme song, and even some early Beethoven spinning on the station.
This week, we’re back to our normal programming, and triple j has a beautiful week of artists that they’re adding to the mix, and specifically featuring Miiesha’s Nyaaringu as their album of the week.
Released only on Friday, May 29th, triple j have said that the Woorabinda born artist Miiesha “has combined powerful stories from her community and Indigenous background with RnB, gospel and soul to deliver a striking collection of songs on her debut release.”

In addition to the beauty of Miiesha’s Nyaaringu, triple j is delivering a stacked lineup of songs in their additions from Aussies like Tones And I with her ‘Ur So FuCkInG cOoL’ and Tia Gostelow’s ‘PSYCHO’.
As well as talented Aussies, this week will also see British rapper Aitch, and his song ’30’, be added to the mix, while also seeing deadmau5 & The Neptunes coming in with ‘Pomegranate’.
After a week of great, banging, and downright odd requests, this week will showcase all the goods we’ve missed out on lately. Check out the rest of the list below!
