Triple J Pick Of The Week: Thundamentals - Something I Said

Blue Mountains-born Thundamentals had a great 2013 with their single Smiles Don’t Lie, which came in at #32 in the Hottest 100 of that year.

Now they’ve dropped the second single from their forthcoming album So We Can Remember, Something I Said. It represents a soulful shift in direction for the hip-hop trio, and includes vocals from fellow Blue Mountainite Thom Crawford, who apparently drank cups of pure custard during the recording to achieve such a smooth vocal take (as MCs Tuka and Jeswon told The Doctor when they premiered the track on triple j last week).

So We Can Remember is due for release on May 2, and Thundamentals will be kicking off a national tour throughout May, as well as hitting up the Groovin’ The Moo festival!
