triple j and Double J have announced their summer programming schedule

triple j and Double J have announced their summer programming schedule

Your summer listening habits are all sorted, with triple j and Double J revealing their programming schedule over Christmas and the new year.

As we approach the end of the year, it’s going to get a bit tricky to keep up to date with summer timetables. While your local supermarket might not have its seasonal hours posted, the ABC has ensured you’re not left wondering for a single second, dropping their summer programming schedule today.

Kicking off from today until Sunday, January 6th, weekdays on triple j will be hosted by Lucky Smith, Karla Ranby, and Sally & Erica, who will be taking over the Summer Breakfast, Lunch, and Arvos spots. Then, your Summer Nights will be soundtracked by the familiar voice of Stacy Gougoulis each weekday evening.

While Fridat and Saturday nights will feature the Best of Mix Up from 10pm to 1am, we’re also set to see a few special events as well, with Ben & Liam hosting a Christmas Day special, Shantan Wantan Ichiban delivering your New Year’s Eve warm up, and a litany of your favourite presenters dropping the New Year’s Eve special.

Of course, it doesn’t end there though, with Gemma Pike getting you in the mood for the Hottest 100, with the Tally Room, at 6pm Sundays from December 30th.

We’re also set to see some huge Live At The Wireless performances as well, with the likes of Joey Bada$$, Khalid, Camp Cope, CHVRCHES, Wolf Alice, and much more pumping on your stereo from December 17th until January 6th.

Check out Childish Gambino’s ‘Feels Like Summer’:

If Double J is more your speed though, Wednesdays are set to see a bit of a blast from the past, as previous presenters and current favourites deliver Rock Up from December 19th until January 16th.

Featuring former hosts of Three Hours of Power and The Racket, Francis Leach, Costa Zouliou, and Andrew Haug, we’ll also see long-time Short.Fast.Loud presenter Stu Harvey, and Magic Dirt icon Adalita delivering the goods over the next few weeks.

Christmas morning will see Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross drop his A Very Christmasy Christmas special into your stocking, where he’ll be joined by special guests such as Paul Dempsey, Judith Lucy, Zan Rowe, Tim Shiel and Richard Kingsmill.

Finally, your New Year’s Eve celebrations will be soundtracked by a massive 12-hour party, which will see you rocking out to the best tunes of 2018, in addition to the finest tracks from the Double J archives.

It all kicks off today, so check out all the details below, or head over to the triple j and Double J websites for more info.
