triple j announce Laura McAuliffe as new Content Director
triple j has announced that Hack Executive Producer Laura McAuliffe will take the reigns of the stations Content Director for the next six months.
McAuliffe succeeds Ollie Wards, who will end his decade-long stint at triple j at the close of this week. Wards has been part of the triple J DNA since cutting hist teeth at Breakfast Producer to Tom & Alex in 2010. Since 2012, Ward has overseen the ins and the outs of the station. Talent scouting for the j’s Breakfast and Drive programs, including Matt & Alex, Ben & Liam, Sally & Erica, Veronica & Lewis and Hobba & Hing.
Ward leaves an impressive legacy. Responsible for launching the daily new music segment Good Nights and sex and relationships program The Hook Up. He’s also the brains behind Requestival and Ausmusic Tshirt Day.
“It’s been an absolute honour to work with the best in the biz at triple j, as one of the caretakers of an institution that means so much to our audience and the music industry,” shares Ward. “I’ll still be listening, but from now on I’ll just have to text in feedback like everyone else!”
Laura McAuliffe kicked off her career as an intern in 2007 at ABC Illawarra. Over the course of her career she’s worked as a Senior Producer for ABC Sydney alongside Robbie Buck. She’s also finessed a trove of ABC podcasts such as Ladies We Need to Talk, Fierce Girls and Mindfully as an ABC Audio Studios Supervising Producer.
“We’re always standing on the shoulders of giants at triple j,” McAulffie shares of her new role. Ollie leaves behind an incredible legacy and big shoes to fill, but I couldn’t be more excited to step up and continue the good work.”
