Touch Sensitive, KLP & James Mathison join EMC to discuss the age of social media
Touch Sensitive, KLP, and TV presenter James Mathison will tackle the omnipresence of social media in music at this year’s Electronic Music Conference. The panel Off Limits: Defining Artist Boundaries in the Age of Social Media, will see the trio delve into the detrimental and positive factors that come into play when social media is an essential part of your job.
The sixth edition of EMC will feature a series of panels, workshops, talks and masterclasses, hosted at Redfern’s Giant Dwarf and Cake Wines Cellar Door next month (November 29 – 30).
Joining the 80 industry figures set to impart their knowledge and expertise will also be Fabric’s Judy Griffith and Global Drug Survey UK’s Dr Adam Winstock for Fabric: A Case Study; a look into the role of clubs in night time culture and their representation to a wider community.
This year’s topics include: gender bias, local festivals, ticketing, mental health, marginalised music and the future of radio, where speakers will delve into stations extending their offering beyond just broadcast into digital and even VR.
EMC has also announced the return of its live music series, EMC Play. The opening Tuesday night will see Sydney club S.A.S.H host deep house legend Fred P at the Inner West’s Sly Fox Hotel, with more artists and parties to be announced in the coming weeks.
EMC takes place from November 29 – November 30, 2017. Purchasers can choose between buying individual session tickets starting at $25 ex gst, or full two-day conference passes starting at $219 ex gst.
