FastForward conference founder Chris Carey joins TicketSwap
FastForward conference founder Chris Carey has landed a new role with TicketSwap.
London-based Carey joins the secondary ticketing reseller as its head of international marketing.
He brings to the role a deep understanding of research, data analysis and consumer insights.
Prior to arriving at TicketSwap, Carey was chief executive of Media Insights Consulting, where he worked on projects for Spotify, Sony and The O2 Arena.
TicketSwap CEO Hans Ober says Carey’s appointment is a signal of the company’s future ambitions.
“We have been on a steep growth journey since we started six years ago and I’m proud to add Chris to our team as we continue to professionalize and expand even further,” says Ober.
“I’m excited to see how the combination of his data-driven methodology and international experience will fuel our marketing strategies in 2020 and beyond.”
TicketSwap positions itself as “a transparent, ticket marketplace providing the safest way to buy and sell tickets” and competes with the much less likeable Viagogo.
Carey will be tasked with sharing the TicketSwap story in key markets, one of which is Australia.
Before founding his consultancy, Carey was the global insights director at EMI Music and Universal Records in the UK.
“I’m excited to bring my background and industry insights to TicketSwap and bridge the gap between talent, events and the secondary ticketing marketplace,” says Carey.
“TicketSwap’s marketplace offers the best fan experience and is rapidly growing internationally, and I am thrilled to be a part of that success story.”
Carey also founded the FastForward conference series that run annually in London, Amsterdam, and Sydney.
TMN understands FastForward Sydney will return for a third instalment in 2020, with TicketSwap becoming a major event partner.
