Three Aussie acts nominated in UK’s indie awards
Three Australian acts were among those nominated in the 16 categories at the eighth edition of the Association of Independent Music (AIM) Awards in London.
DMA’s are up for the public voted Best Live Act alongside Cassia, Erasure, Idles and Steps.
Confidence Man are in the International Breakthrough list, with El Paso, Texas-based ambient-pop Cigarettes After Sex, LA singer-songwriters Moses Sumney and Phoebe Bridgers and Switzerland/ New York’s avant-garde metal project Zeal & Ardour.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard vie for Hardest Working Group or Artist against Mogwai, DAWN, Ides and Tom Misch.
Winners are announced at a ceremony in September.
Jorja Smith Smith, Phoebe Bridgers, Idles and Let’s Eat Grandma lead the way with three nominations each.
