War Child Australia’s inaugural ARIA Week show is many months in the making, and counts on partnerships with Secret Sounds, Comes With Fries, Warner Music Australia and The ARIAs. Its team is looking to build on the success of the War Child Presents shows in 2019 and, in time, create an annual portfolio of events to engage supporters to further raise awareness and support for its work.

“We can’t reach as many children that are in need of our support without Australian support,” Sheena Bourke, global partnering manager at War Child, tells TIO.

The fundraising efforts of War Child support vulnerable children with trauma counselling, music therapy and education initiatives. Its mission: to rescue childhoods and restore hope for a brighter future. Music is one of its powers for change.

In 1995, the charity brought together Paul McCartney, Oasis, Blur, Radiohead and the biggest names in British music to record and release the iconic Help album, and in recent years, the organisation has worked with the cream of the pop and rock worlds, including Coldplay, Biffy Clyro, Paul Weller, Florence + The Machine, Jamie xx, The Killers, Muse, Damon Albarn, Ed Sheeran and Kasabian.

The newly-formed War Child Australia is part of the international War Child family and partner of War Child U.K.
