The very best tweets from BIGSOUND 2018
The hangovers have set in, the lack of sleep is now taking its toll and Bigsound 2018 has come to an end.
Following incredible performances from the likes of Dobby, G-Flip, Genesis Owusu, Slowly Slowly and so many more, the imparting of crucial knowledge from figures like Paul Kelly, Mardi Caught and even Dave Grohl’s mum, and the well-deserved awarding of the Levi’s Music Prize to Emerson Snowe, Bigsound 2018 has been slated as one of the best yet.
You can check out some of our coverage here, and here, and here, but it would be remiss of us not to to accurately summarise the conference and festival through this carefully selected series of tweets, which range from the ridiculous to the perceptive.
Bigsound is just talking with your industry friends and saying “yeah they were actually pretty good” on repeat at every venue.

The proposition of @timshiel and @forghandi curating the artists at BIGSOUND 2k19 is sooooo exciting. What a moment.

Something I couldn’t put my finger on has felt kind of off about Bigsound this year so far, then I just realised its because @adrianjkelly isn’t here

Free drinks are fine but I really think #bigsound parties should be giving out free foot massages and then the networking can REALLY start ?

The main thing I learnt at Bigsound is that apparently you do need a business card. ??♂️

For those of you who missed the memo, it’s never okay to touch another human without consent.
No matter where you are or what you’re wearing it’s not cool – keep your hands to yourself or kindly fuck off ☺️ #bigsound #bigsound2018 #BIGSOUND18— Tamara Mary (@TamArowAgency) September 5, 2018
“Are we stopping to chat or is this just a walk by fleeting greeting?” The Bigsound conundrum.

Soppy tweet but hey, bigsound has been the most incredible experience and I’ve never been so stoked on life, then what I am right now! The Aus music scene is the most incredible community of people, and I can not wait to work in this industry full time!!

@chriswhatavibe To be expected from any band you’re working with, but mate, Stateside are goddamn blowing my mind right now.

the biggest takeaway i’ve got from bigsound is that no one feels like they deserve to be here regardless of how supremely talented they are. imposter syndrome is rife, friends!!!

Pretty weird that Annastacia Palaszczuk jumped on stage during Blank Realm and said they were required by law to play the last set at every #BIGSOUND from here on in but there ya go.

The bus to the afterparty is blasting Nick Cave’s “Stagger Lee” as if that’s totally normal party music. #BIGSOUND
— Kodi (@useyourtanuki) September 6, 2018
Pls, Bigsound, we only want party bangers on the dance floor at the afterparty.
