Food Brands SPC and Vegemite Create ‘House Music Banger’ Inspired by the ’90s
SPC and Vegemite have joined forces to create a new food product, Vegemite Baked Beans, as well as a song – The Ultimate Aussie Mashup – to support its release.
The Ultimate Aussie Mashup melds together the jingles of both Vegemite and SPC, with influence from the house music of the ’90s.
It has been mixed by DJ Andy Murphy who explained his thinking behind the track.
“I’ve created a ’90s piano-house influenced dance track using the jingles of iconic Australian brands SPC and Vegemite. These jingles have been such an iconic part of living and growing up in Australia and I wanted to create a feeling of nostalgia, in a progressive, fun and funky way,” he said.
Murphy has dropped the new release on Spotify, Apple Music, Sound Cloud and Amazon Music.
Jacqui Roth, marketing manager for Vegemite, said the brands are so excited for Aussies to give the new original track a listen.
“Now that Aussies have had a taste of the SPC Baked Beans and Vegemite goodness, we don’t want it to stop there. This mashup means you can have a boogie whilst enjoying your newest favourite pantry staple,” she said.
George Dimkin, SPC’s marketing manager, added: “We are pumped to continue the momentum from the launch of SPC Baked Beans and Vegemite. It’s been so much fun working with Andy, and we’re excited to see the response from baked beans lovers and club goers.
“We wanted to inject some of the fun back into the baked beans aisle and it’s fantastic to see that we’ve now got a mashup that combines our Hungry Little Human Beans and Happy Little Vegemite jingles.”
