Unearthed winners The Rions sign management deal with UNIFIED

Sydney band The Rions have signed with UNIFIED Artist Management, fresh off taking out the title of Triple J Unearthed High winners 2021.

In addition to signing a new management deal, on their last day of high school no less, Select Music will also now represent the band for live bookings.

The news comes with the release of The Rions’ new single ‘Disassociation’, out today through UNIFIED’s newly launched distribution arm, Community Music.

UNIFIED artist manager Steve de Wilde remarked on the band’s talent, despite only just finishing their high school education at Barrenjoey High in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

“To have such incredible songwriting instincts and playing chops at such a young age is a rare thing,” de Wilde said. “It feels like the sky’s the limit for these guys and we’re really excited to be on board to help bring their vision to life.”

Select Music’s Stephen Wade spoke about the opportunity the agency has to help the band develop their career at such a formative point.

“Fresh out of school and ready to take on the world and we can’t wait to help them build the career they deserve,” Wade said.

“Immensely talented, yet humble and most importantly wonderful human beings we look forward to starting this career journey with them & look forward to being a part of their team.”

The Rions will also play their debut hometown headline show next month in support of the new single, taking on Sydney’s The Vanguard on January 21.
