The Kid Laroi just misses out on U.K. No. 1
The Kid Laroi now has something to aim at.
The Sydney-raised, Los Angeles-based singer and rapper scores an equal career-best No. 2 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart with ‘Stay,’ his collaboration with Justin Bieber which lifts three places.
Just one man stands in his way: Ed Sheeran, whose ‘Bad Habits’ bags a fourth straight week at No. 1.
Sheeran’s latest powered to the top with 101,000 chart sales, including 11.4 million streams, more than double the tally of ‘Stay.’
The Kid (born Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard) has now claimed two No. 2s in less than a year. Not bad for a 17-year-old.
Laroi also reached the silver-medal position in November 2020 with ‘Without You’.

Expect the Kid to stick around the charts for some time yet.
‘Stay’ appears on his new mixtape F*ck Love 3: Over You, which dropped last Friday. It’s the followup to F**K Love (Savage), which created history when it reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in February, by making Laroi the youngest ever Australian solo artist to reach the top spot.
Laroi made more history when ‘Without You’ entered a 14th non-consecutive week at No. 1 on Australia’s radio airplay chart, knocking off the 13-week record set by Bernard Fanning with 2005’s ‘Wish You Well’.
F**k Love is the No. 22 best-selling album in the U.K. this year, according to new data crunched by the Official Charts Company.
In other chart news, Tones And I continues to fly on the U.K. chart. ‘Fly Away’ lifts 26-16, for a new peak in its seventh week on the survey.
