Josh Pyke Partnership back for 2018
The Josh Pyke Partnership is open for 2018, with Australian musoJosh Pyke set to once again present a $7500 grant to a lucky Australian artist.
The grant will again be presented in conjunction with APRA AMCOS, with the winner to receive mentoring from Pyke, Wonderlick’s Gregg Donovan and Select Music’s Stephen Wade.
To be eligible, artists (who can’t be signed to a recording or publishing deal) need to submit a business plan to support and outline the progression of their career.
“I’m extremely excited to announce the JP Partnership will be returning this year! APRA AMCOS has generously partnered up with me again, and we will be awarding $7500 and mentorship to the winner. Get your entries in ASAP! Looking forward to hearing some exciting new music,”said Pyke.
The 2017 winner Angie McMahon has since performed at Secret Garden, Laneway Festival and NYE On The Hill, as well as recently securing the #33 spot in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown with her track ’Slow Mover’.
This prize had a huge effect on my year because it meant I could pursue the professional goals I’d set for myself,” said McMahon.
“The vote of confidence from Josh Pyke and APRA helped people believe in my music, which is very powerful, and I’ve been busy pursuing opportunities since receiving the prize. It felt like I’d been passed the relay baton, and then I was off and running.”
