TEG promotes ticketing execs as ‘our industry emerges from COVID-19’

As Australia’s live industry emerges from its COVID-induced slumber, TEG is doubling-down on its ticketing activities.

Announced today (23rd February), Glen Rainsbury becomes General Manager for Ticketek’s activities across Australia and New Zealand while Lee Jones assumes the title of Director – Ticketing Solutions, a newly-created role.

Both Rainsbury and Jones report to Cameron Hoy, who was promoted in late 2020 to Managing Director-Ticketing and Chief Commercial Officer, with responsibility for TEG’s worldwide ticketing business.

Based in Melbourne, Rainsbury brings more than two decades’ experience across ticketing, venues and promotion, including senior roles with both Live Nation and Frontier Touring Company.

In 2020, Rainsbury helped the Live Entertainment Industry Forum (LEIF) to coordinate and deliver extensive industry guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rainsbury’s CV “gives him a 360-degree view of the live entertainment sector,” comments Hoy in a statement.

“It makes him a great fit for this new role, which is key to Ticketek’s strategy to ensure we continue to lead the industry with an enhanced operated model as our industry emerges from COVID-19.”

Hoy continues, “I am thrilled that Lee is leading our Ticketing Solutions team to ensure the full breadth of Ticketek’s technology and capability is deployed and leveraged for the benefit of our partners globally. Lee’s experience in ticketing strategy and solution design is unequalled in our industry.”

TEG’s vast empire spans ticketing, live entertainment and technology, with interests including Ticketek, TEG Live, Qudos Bank Arena, Eventopia, TEG Dainty, and Van Egmond Group, the Melbourne-based concert promotion company which has produced some of the biggest tours ever to visit our shores.

TEG CEO Geoff Jones predicts the live industry will open-up in the months ahead across Australia and New Zealand, and he’s calibrating his company for that scenario.

“I am confident that Australia and New Zealand can lead the way in returning blockbuster international acts to the world of live music,” he tells this reporter.

“We are proceeding cautiously and carefully and the safety of our fans, artists and our people remains our number one priority but the signs are good.”
