Philly, Uncanny Valley and more artists announced for TedxMelbourne show
The Melbourne TEDx chapter has announced a virtual music and talks event, United, for later this month.
Taking place next Thursday (December 10), the event will feature performances from rapper Philly, music-tech collective Uncanny Valley, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Little Green, and violinist Kaitlyn Hova.
In addition to the performances, the artists will also explore the ideas that inspire their work and talk about their creative process. Notably, Hova and the artists from Uncanny Valley have backgrounds in science and technology.
“This event will not only provide a platform for them to perform, but to also delve behind the music to uncover the ideas that inspire their work, talk about their creative process and discuss the importance of a strong and resilient arts industry in Australia and across the globe,” a statement read.
“This is not just another online music gig – this is about ideas and inspiration – about the power of messages through music – about tapping into the current issues we face as a community and how we can come together, build our collective resilience and share ideas that inspire positive change.”
The event will be hosted by ABC Radio National presenter Lisa Leong, who has also done her own TEDx Talk. Tickets are on sale now, with discounted prices available for artists.
