Tech entrepreneur Creevey giving away $25K in DJ comp
Australian tech entrepreneur Ron Creevey has announced a competition to give DJs cash prizes, with the Grand Prize winner taking home $25,000.
Launched to highlight his live streaming platform The X Cast, which launched earlier this month, the online competition requests Australian DJs to create their own channel on The X Cast and upload and promote their content.
The DJ with the most traffic by Christmas Eve will win $25,000 with second and third place DJs taking home $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
“Coming into party season, we aim to find the top DJs through our platform to showcase new and upcoming talent,” Creevey told TMN. “We want to see everyone’s submissions, so get involved!
The X Cast is the latest addition to Creevey’s digital media agency, Moment Media, the parent company for Kings Cross multi-media venue The X Studio, mobile payment company NeZii, and Creevey’s label Helipad Records. Helipad has non-exclusive contracts with 79 DJs.
The Top 10 DJs with the most traffic will be judged by the Head of Helipad Recordsand two still-to-be-announced international DJs.
DJs can create a channel on The X Cast by contacting [email protected]then proceed to upload their video and radio content. The X Cast allows users to broadcast live (video or radio) as well as stream media and/or access Video on Demand (VOD) and Pay Per View (PPV) content.
“I created [The X Cast] with my team and it is the most advanced social broadcasting platform available to the public,” Creevey added. “As well as being able to upload video and audio content, it also allows you to live stream and set up a pay per view wall.”
