It’s a milestone week for Taylor Swift at Australian radio
With her new album Lover only one sleep away, the party has already started for Taylor Swift.
The album’s title track has just been crowned most added to Australian radio, beating Birds Of Tokyo’s ‘The Greatest Mistakes’ in a thrilling contest.
All four of Lover’s singles have now been most added in their first week at radio, following ‘ME!’ (May 2), ‘You Need To Calm Down’ (June 20) and ‘The Archer’ (August 1).
Swift averages a most added title every four weeks since Lover‘s rollout began, an unprecedented stat for any recording artist.
The single was in high demand across commercial radio this week, scoring ATB adds to the entire Hit Network and KIIS stations, while also joining Nova’s playlist on ATB and Daytime rotation.
Keeping it a close affair was Triple M who gave Birds Of Tokyo full rotation adds to Sydney and Melbourne stations, plus Mix 94.5 and 92.5 GOLD FM.
Nova’s national adoption was also a big win for the Perth outfit. However, a miss on both KIIS stations dented the band’s chances of earning an upset victory over Swift.
Normani’s ‘Motivation’ was in the running early as Hit offered up unbridled support. The singer quickly lost momentum throughout the week, allowing Miley Cyrus to swoop in.
Breakup single ‘Slide Away’ was hallmarked by Nova (ATB/Days), Fox FM (ATB), Hit92.9 (Weekends), KIIS (Nights) and Grant Broadcasters (Nights).
