ARIA Charts: Taylor Swift posts biggest sales week of 2019 with ‘Lover’
Taylor Swift’s stranglehold over the ARIA Albums Chart continues with the release of Lover.
The album tops the chart in its first week since release, while also registering the biggest week of sales by any record so far in 2019.
It’s Swift’s fifth LP to summit the chart (alongside Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation), and the first since signing to Republic Records.
In total, Swift has spent 16 weeks atop the chart across the five albums.
Lover has already produced three Top 3 ARIA singles, with its title track landing at #3 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
13 of the 18 tracks on the album now sit in the ARIA Top 50.
‘Lover’ sits behind ‘Dance Monkey’ by rising Aussie Tones and I, who has now held top spot for five consecutive weeks.
Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello occupy the other podium place, with global smash hit ‘Senorita’.
Taylor Swift’s latest record continues to make waves at Australian radio too.
The album’s title track ‘Lover’ rises to #13 on the latest TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart, in just its second charting week.
It joins ‘You Need To Calm Down’ at #9 and ‘ME!’ ft Brendon Urie which lingers at #59 in its 18th week.
