Rolling Stone Australia presented world-beating icon of Aussie music Tash Sultana with their very own Rolling Stone diamond ring.

Presented to Tash Sultana at their studio in Melbourne yesterday, the gift is part of Rolling Stone Australia‘s global first where every person featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Australia will receive their very own diamond ring to mark the occasion.

The 18k White Gold ring was created by Affinity Diamonds in Sydney and designed in collaboration with Rolling Stone. It features 241 Round Black Diamonds which total approximately 1 carat of diamonds.

Tash Sultana is the current cover star of Rolling Stone Australia, with the latest magazine issue dropping earlier this month on March 15. In the nine-page cover feature, Rolling Stone Australia spoke to Tash in the lead up and then following their sold-out show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion in November.

Throughout the far-reaching discussions, Tash and this journalist touched upon all manner of topics, including the artist’s personal growth and gender affirmation, their new musical direction, and the journey that saw them go from high school class disrupter to bedroom and street performer, to selling out venues globally.

“I am stoked to tick this off the bucket list that I never thought would actually EVER happen,” Tash Sultana said. “Thank you for putting my mug on the cover of the March issue of Rolling Stone. Even more special to be one of the first Australian artists to achieve something like this is a really humbling experience. It’s something I never would have imagined all those years ago, I’m really, really thankful.”

Tash Sultana used their Rolling Stone magazine cover spot to raise funds for Australian mental health and wellbeing support organisation Beyond Blue. They auctioned off five signed copies and donated the almost $6,000 in proceeds to Beyond Blue.

“Help support a cause close to my heart,” they wrote in the social media post announcing the charity auction.

Last last month Tash Sultana achieved their latest in a long series of milestones, taking home their first ARIA #1 album thanks to second album Terra Firma.

This month they’ll perform at the inaugural Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Australia Awards. Taking place on March 31 in Sydney, Tash Sultana is also among the nominees recognised across five categories: Best Record, Best Single, Best New Artist, the Rolling Stone Global Award, and the Rolling Stone Reader’s Award.
