Tash Sultana leads the four latest additions to Bluesfest

With 90 days to go before Bluesfest Byron Bay begins its 30th-anniversary celebrations, it added four more acts this morning.

Currently selling out shows around the world and moving into major festival slots, Tash Sultana just sold 12,000 tickets in London, and in June set to headline at the 10,000 plus capacity Alexandra Palace.

She plays the Friday, on the same bill as Iggy Pop, Gary Clark Jr., Hozier and Norah Jones.

New Zealand’s SIX60 have sold 25 x platinum singles and 9 x platinum albums in their home market, had 10 wins at the NZ Music Awards and next month become the first NZ act to sell out the 50,000-capacity Western Springs Stadium in Auckland.

Sydney’s Ocean Alley are just back from a US tour, with Sportsbet having their single ‘Confidence’ to win the triple j Hottest 100 this month.

Melbourne based Latin-inspired Amaru Tribe is led by Oscar Jiminez and features musician Venezuela, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.

Festival director Peter Noble says this year’s Bluesfest is selling faster than any instalment and heading for a sell-out in April.

Others on the bill include Jack Johnson, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Paul Kelly, The Saboteurs with Jack White, David Gray, Ray La Montagne, Julia Stone, Mavis Staples, Archie Roach, Kasey Chambers, Mojo Juju, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic and Tommy Emmanuel.
