Tai Verdes’ latest hit ‘A-O-K’ is an instant mood booster

After conquering TikTok with his breakout single ‘Stuck In The Middle’, rising singer-songwriter Tai Verdes looks set to make a splash in Australia with his latest hit ‘A-O-K.’

Built around soulful guitar licks and sunny vocal harmonies, ‘A-O-K’ is one of Verdes’ most exuberant singles to date, with its catchy chanted choruses and uplifting message.

Since its May release, ‘A-O-K’ has reached over 30 million global streams and been featured in more than 50,000 TikTok videos, generating a whopping total of more than 400 million views.

The track’s positive message has also resonated heavily with Australian listeners, with ‘A-O-K’ added to Spotify’s ‘Today’s Top Hits’ and ‘Hot Hits Australia’ playlists, scoring an ATB addition on the NOVA network nationally, and is already appearing at #38 in the Shazam chart.

Verdes said that ‘A-O-K’ was written to provide an uplifting message for listeners throughout the pandemic, with the song’s music video also conveying a similarly optimistic sentiment.

“I just want anyone who listens to this song to feel 2% better,” the singer-songwriter said. “Literally as soon as you hit play. It’s instantaneous.”

The recent success of ‘A-O-K’ marks another major milestone for Verdes, who was originally working in retail during the early months of the pandemic before ‘Stuck In The Middle’ took off on TikTok.

The debut single was named by The New York Times as one of the best songs of 2020, with 80 million streams and more than 2.6 million TikTok creations – amassing over 2.5 billion global views.
