The winner of the 21st SoundMerch Australian Music Prize, one of Australian music's most prestigious awards, has been revealed.

The shortlist for the 2025 Australian Music Prize (AMP) has been revealed, with nine albums scoring nominations.

The winner will be announced December 4th, 2024 at the SoundMerch AMP event to be held at APRA AMCOS offices in Sydney.

Albums by Middle Kids, Tkay Maidza, and Emma Donovan are among the contenders for the annual Australian Music Prize.

Only homegrown album released in the period from Jan. 1 to Oct. 27 2023 are eligible, with $30,000 set aside for the winner.

The shortlist of the Australian Music Prize also includes iconic names such as Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, King Gizzard, Emma Donovan, and more.

Bridge Over Troubled Dreams is the seventh Australian album to debut on top of the charts this year.

Sampa has scored VIP treatment across BET’s network of channels around the world and emerged as the pace-setter for the 2020 NLMAs.

The fund offers $1 million in grants for “amazing Australians doing great things in any field.”

A shortlist of nine releases will be announced in early 2019 with the winner being crowned in March.
