Sydney’s Bloods sign deal with Sub Pop
PRESS RELEASE:
In what surely must be a case of their wildest teen dreams coming true, Sydney’s Bloods have signed a worldwide publishing deal (ex AU/NZ) with Seattle-based Sub Pop. The deal represents a crazy turn of events for the bratty Sydney trio who are the first Australian signing to Sub Pop’s Publishing arm.
Sub Pop Publishing representative, Cayle Sharratt says of the signing:
“We are incredibly excited and fortunate to be working with Bloods. Their phenomenal abilities and talents as songwriters are equally matched by their superior dedication to crafting interesting and honest work. Equipped with this admirable combination of skill and focus, and along with their charming personalities, we know great things are in store for Bloods.”
Bloods (MC – Vocals/Guitar, Sweetie – Bass/Vocals, Dirk – Drums) recently returned from a triumphant USA tour in support of their debut album Work It Out, released on Chicago label Minty Fresh. Starting with showcases at SXSW, including the Sounds Australia Aussie BBQ, the band continued on with an epic 11-date tour/adventure/boozefest with fellow Sydneysiders The Preatures.
Bloods recently shared new single/video for ‘What Do I Care’, which features the incredible work of Skateistan. Skateistan are an amazing not-for-profit organisation that use skateboarding as a tool for empowering and educating youth in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Watch 'What Do I Care' Here. More on Skateistan here.
Bloods are currently in pre-production mode for the follow up to Work It Out, which according to drummer Dirk “is gonna absolutely blow anything and everything we’ve done so far completely out of the water!” – he is totally completely 100% biased.
Get Work It Out via iTunes, JB Hi-Fi or your local indie record store.
