Sydney EDM artist tops Japanese singles chart
Sydney artist KLP has debuted at #1 on the Electronic iTunes Chart in Japan.
Kristy Lee Peters collaborated with Japanese producer Banvox on his double A Side single Love Strong / Watch Me Dance. Peters co-wrote both tracks and features on Watch Me Dance.
In January, Peters signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Universal Publishing.
Heath Johns, Director of A&R said at the time of announcement, “KLP is young, prolific, ambitious and talented. Investing in and developing exceptional new talent is a major priority for Universal Music Publishing and we are incredibly excited to start helping Kristy and her songs gain traction in Australia and beyond.”
In the past twelve months Peters placed #1 on Hype Machine with her Flume and Emoh Instead (What So Not) collaboration Jaguar, watched her track Down South (with Perth artist Ta-Ku) receive alternative radio support while her December-released solo track Decide has been streamed more than 3,800 times on SoundCloud. Peters was also selected to perform the EMC Spotlight at last year’s Electronic Music Conference, was awarded a spot at Field Day as the Triple J Unearthed act, and more recently signed to Jesse Flavell’s artist management company Sum Management.
Peters is headed to Austin, Texas next week for a showcase at SXSW and to Los Angeles for Sounds Australia’s Aussie BBQ.
