Surprise Veronicas Bluesfest appearance triggers Splendour rumours
The return of The Veronicas is gathering momentum, with the sister duo making a surprise appearance at Bluesfest over the weekend.
Lisa and Jess Origliasso joined recent ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Kasey Chambers to perform a special version of her track ‘The Captain’, 20 years after the duo first saw Kasey perform at Bluesfest.
They shared their story with Kasey recently, telling her that she inspired them to become performers. After hearing the story, Kasey invited them to join her on stage last Saturday.
Following the performance, Kasey was presented with a Bluesfest Star award by festival director Peter Noble.
The Veronicas’ recent single ‘Think Of Me’ took out TMN’s Most Added To Radio earlier this month, while the girls also made a surprise appearance at Field Day earlier this year.
This latest festival appearance is playing into rumours that The Veronicas may be the “secret act” being teased for Splendour In The Grass 2019.
triple j Nights presenter Bridget Hustwaite is one who subscribes to the theory, tweeting “Living for this domination of the Aus music festival circuit by The Veronicas !!”
