Support Act partners with AM Eyewear for unisex sunglass range

Support Act partners with AM Eyewear for unisex sunglass range

Australian music industry charity Support Act is protecting artists from pandemic-induced crises and the sun thanks to its new partnership with AM Eyewear.

Australian Made global lifestyle brand AM Eyewear has launched a range of AM EYEWEAR 4 SUPPORT ACT sunglasses, with all profits generated from the sales going to Support Act.

The unisex sunglasses are made from black Italian acetate and features a red interior embossed with the Support Act logo, and fitted with Italian Carl ZEISS sun lenses.

“We love these sunnies,” said Support Act’s CEO Clive Miller. “Not only do they look cool, but with summer coming on they will also provide protection for people’s eyes. Huge thanks to AM Eyewear for developing the frame with the Support Act brand included, and for helping our efforts to provide support to music workers affected by the current pandemic.”

The partnership came about amid the global COVID-19 pandemic which has crippled Australia’s live sector, and has launched with the support of acts like Missy Higgins, G Flip, Airbourne, Baker Boy, Amy Shark, Urthboy, and more, who will be spotted wearing the sunglasses in the coming weeks.

Also showing solidarity with their support across digital platforms will be: Byron Bay Bluesfest, Fairgrounds, Field Day, Frontier Touring, Fuzzy, Harbour Life, Listen Out, Live Nation Entertainment & Events, Oxford Arts Factory, Poster Child and Splendour In The Grass.

The music industry has received a bit of good news for live sector recently however. As previously reported, the NSW Legislative Council last week passed amendments to the Liquor Amendment (Right to Play Music) Bill 2020, which will dump some of the laughable regulations governing music venues across the state.

The current laughable NSW regulations include bans or restrictions in certain venues for dancing and rock music, disco music, DJs, drumming, four piece bands, singer songwriters, the bass guitar, vinyl records, bands facing in a direction other than south and, most bizarrely, mirror balls.
