The Age Music Victoria Awards are set to celebrate their 12th year as one of the Aussie music industry’s finest honours this year, with artist and venue submissions for nominations opening today.

Taking place within Melbourne Music Week this year, the awards have now opened the doors for venues and artist nomination submissions. Nominations are now open for best regional venue, best venue, genre awards for best album, and awards for the best Indigenous, experimental, and avant-garde acts. A select panel of industry experts will then determine the final nominees for the awards.

While the famous Age Music Victoria Awards afterparty is yet to have its lineup announced, earlybird tickets have been announced for the event, which is set to take place at Melbourne’s 170 Russell, after the ceremony.

So if 50% of your act has lived in Victoria for the last year, have released an EP or album between October 1st 2016 and August 31st 2017, or you run a Victorian venue or festival, you’re eligible.

Submissions for nominations are open now, and will remain so until August 31st. Nominees for the awards will be announced Friday, October 13th.
