State Government issues warning about ticket reseller Viagogo
The State Government issued an “urgent public warning” over the weekend about online ticket reseller Viagogo, after numerous complaints regarding their shady practices.
“I’m issuing an urgent public warning about Viagogo’s unfair and unsatisfactory business services and practices…this is simply not good enough,” Minister for Better Regulation, Matt Kean, announced yesterday.
“Complaints to date have included delayed delivery, events being cancelled, heavily marked-up prices, hidden fees, and failure to provide refunds.”
Kean estimates that around 600 consumers had lost around $130,000 through Viagogo’s practices.
NSW Fair Trading has received 165 complaints and 237 inquiries regarding Viagogo, and have made at least 194 unsuccessful attempts to contact the company.
