Spotify reaches 20m paying subscribers

At the end of May 2014, Spotify reached 10 million paying subscribers and 40 million active users. Today, it hasmore than 20 million subscribersandmore than 75 million active users. It reached 10 million subscribers in its first five and a half years – and another10 million subscribers in just a single year!That’s an average of one new subscriber every three seconds over the last year.
As Spotifygrows, the amount of royalties it pays artists, songwriters and rights holders continues to climb faster than ever. It haspaid more than $3 billion USD in royalties,including more than $300 million in the first three months of 2015 alone.
