‘Spicks and Specks’ gets another run after high-rating 2018 reunion
Popular ABC music quiz show Spicks and Specks has been confirmed for four more special episodes.
Host Adam Hills will return with team captains Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough for one episode in 2019 for ABC’s Ausmusic Month, as well as three special shows in 2020.
The show’s one-hour reunion special was a massive ratings win for the ABC, topping all demos and raking in 1.13 million viewers. That made it the ABC’s highest-rating program in 2018.
“From the moment Alan, Myf and I were together in a room for last year’s Spicks and Specks Reunion Special, we had each other in fits of laughter,” said Brough.
“Any time I can spend with those two fools is time well spent, and if it takes four more specials to make that happen – so be it!” added Brough.
“The response to last year’s show was overwhelming, both in the studio when we filmed it, and at home when it went to air.
“Spicks and Specks has a special place in our hearts, and I’m genuinely excited to make a few more specials for the ABC”
The show originally aired between 2005 and 2011, and while an ill-fated relaunch in 2014 was a blip, the show and its original hosts have a cult following around the country.
Spicks and Specks will return for a special episode this November, with a yet-to-be-announced lineup of stars from both the worlds of music and comedy.
