Sounds Australia & BIGSOUND have announced the Latin American Sessions
Have you often wondered what the next step is for your musical career? Do you often find yourself wishing you could break into a previously-untapped source of music-loving fans? Well, thanks to the Latin American Sessions, you could find yourself being heralded as the next Morrissey in South America.
Sounds Australia were lucky enough to receive a grant through the Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program. Now, teaming up with BIGSOUND’s Executive Programmer Maggie Collins, the organisation has launched the Latin American Sessions, a series of networking and information events that promise to provide invaluable insights for all members of the Aussie music industry.
Featuring a panel of guest speakers, and moderated by Sounds Australia’s Executive Producer Millie Millgate, the Latin American Sessions is set to provide a valuable insight and information tailored to the South American region, which is currently experiencing the highest level of recorded music growth revenue in the world.
With digital revenue in the region growing by 31.2% in 2016, and with streaming revenue increasing by a whopping 57%, the Latin American market is certainly one that emerging and established artists would want to corner, and hopefully with these sessions, that’s exactly what they’ll be able to do.
With a variety of guest speakers, including Adel Hattem (USA), Sylvie Piccolotto (Argentina) and Oliver Knust Restucci (Chile), the events in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will also be joined by a combination of industry figures, including folks from Chugg Music, Positive Feedback, UNIFIED Music Group, Liberation and the Sydney Festival.
Entry to the Melbourne and Sydney events on September 11th and 12th is free, but you’ll need to send an RSVP, while entry to the September 7th event at BIGSOUND will require a BIGSOUND Conference Badge. Read below for further information and ticketing.
