Sony/ATV extends deal with Greg Kurstin
Sony/ATV Music Publishing has extended its long-term worldwide deal with writer, musician and producer Greg Kurstin.
Kurstin lists Lily Allen’s Grammy-nominated LP It's Not Me, It's You, Pink’s The Truth About Love, Katy Perry’s Prism, Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence, Sia’s 1000 Forms of Fear and four tracks for this season’s blockbuster film Annie (three of which were written with Sia) among his co-write and producer credits.
Earlier this month he was nominated for a Grammy in the Non-Classical Producer of the Year categoryfor his work on Sia’s ARIA Award-winning LP 100 Forms Of Fear.
Kustin first signed with EMI Music Publishing in 2002, which was of course, acquired by Sony/ATV in 2012 for approximately US$2.2 billion.
Kurstin first made a name for himself with the band Geggy Tah; the track he penned, Whoever You Are, peaked at #16 on the Billboard Modern RockTrackschartin 1996. In 2006, Kurstin formed the duo The Bird and the Beewith singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Inara George. The pair’s 2010 LP Interpreting the Masters Volume 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates peaked at #75 on the Billboard 200.
