Sony Music Aus adds three new employees, promotes another seven
Sony Music Entertainment Australia has expanded its business as it adds three new employees to its stable and promotes another seven.
In the official announcement, released today, the following new staff appointments join the major:
Kaitlyn Pearce
Pearce has joined the Sydney-based licensing division as Licensing Manager. Kaitlyn will report to Hannah Kirkpatrick, who has been promoted to Director, Business Development and Licensing, and Kaitlyn will be responsible for managing licensing and sync requests.
Fenella Wagener
Wagener has started in the company’s Melbourne office in the new role of Director, Promotions & Media, Victoria. Fenella will be responsible for all aspects of promotions, communications and artist relations in Victoria.
She will also play a national role in the business development division by working across all our partners on a range of opportunities. Fenella will report to Dan Nitschke and Rowan Thiedeman from the Sydney office.
Mark Narborough
Narborough will be joining Sony Music at the end of April as Finance Director for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, reporting to EVP, Operations & CFO, Asia Pacific, Andrew Smith.
Sony Music also announced new roles for Bronwyn Tasker, Liz Mudie and Tammy Hofbauer among its staff promotions:
Hannah Kirkpatrick
Kirkpatrick’s promotion to Director, Business Development and Licensing will see her with increased responsibility for business development and the company’s brand business, in addition to her existing licensing duties. Hannah will continue to report to Dan Nitschke.
Katie Baldwin
Baldwin, who reports to Hannah, has been promoted to Licensing Representative. Katie will continue to manage licensing requests whilst assisting both the licensing and business development teams. Katie joined the company in 2017.
Lara Couloumbis
Couloumbis has been promoted to Marketing Manager, reporting to Ian Grady. Lara started with the company in 2017 as Content Manager and is responsible for marketing a roster of Australian and international artists.
Leah Mulholland
Mulholland is taking on increased responsibility by working with The Orchard on the company’s distribution deals. Her new title will be Label Operations & Orchard Integration Manager, reporting to Blake Rayner in the Orchard. Leah started with the company in 1986.
Claire Morrissey
Morrissey, from the company’s Brisbane office, has been promoted to Promotions Manager, Queensland, where she will be the key contact for Queensland media across radio, print and TV and report to Rowan Thiedeman. Claire started with the company as an intern in 2016.
Liz Mudie
Mudie has taken on expanded responsibility in the role of Manager, Digital Advertising & Artist Management, reporting to Wayne Ringrow. In addition to her management responsibilities for Jai Waetford, Tori Wade and Andrew Lambrou, Liz will be responsible for digital advertising and post-campaign analysis. Liz joined the company in 2012.
Katrina Ross
Ross also takes on increased responsibility by working closely with the Sony Foundation team on Australian artist activity with their charity events, reporting to Wayne Ringrow. Katrina’s role is Senior Manager, Australian Artists Marketing and she started with the company in 2013.
Tammy Hofbauer
Hofbauer has been promoted to Director, Promotions Strategy, reporting to Rowan Thiedeman. Tammy continues with her responsibility for radio promotions and events from the Sydney office. Tammy started with the company in A&R in 2008.
Bronwyn Tasker
Tasker has been promoted to Director, National Communications, reporting to Grant Donges. Bronwyn is responsible for the national communications and artist relations for a roster of Australian and international artists, as well as media relations for national publications. Bronwyn started with the company in 2004.
Sony Music is far from stopping its growth with the aforementioned announcements. It also teases further upcoming appointments as it expands its business in Victoria and Queensland.
The major will be moving its Melbourne staff to a new creative premises in Richmond in mid-May, which will include a new recording studio. Sony is also expected to add more A&R staff in Brisbane as well.
