Social Media Chart Wrap: Guetta holds overall #1, Perry dominates FB & Twitter
David Guetta remains at #1 for another week on the International Social Media 50 this week. No real movement comes in until #15 with Kanye West moving up two places followed by Skrillex at #17 moving up from #18.
Guetta’s lead at #1 is being propelled by YouTube where he tops the platform. The highengagement comes off the back ofhis single Bang My Head featuring Sia & Fetty Wap, which is currently at 56+ million views and 350,000 likes.
Guettais currently competing with Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, ranked #2 and #3 on YouTube respectively.
Bieber’s highest engaging video is the live performance of Love Yourself and Sorry at The BRIT Awards, which in just one week has amassed 8.06 million views.
For Swift the biggest contributors are the Out Of The Woods music video and the The Making Of video for the same song, both at a current combined total of 69 million views.
Instagram sees Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Bieber all fighting for the top spot which Swift currently holds. All three have similar follower counts; Swift leads with 68.2m, followed by Gomez and 67.8m and Bieber with 60.4m. Though it is usually hotley contested, it’s easy to see how the real fight is between Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, with both averaging around 1.5-2 million likes on each post, whereas Justin averages slightly lower.
Katy Perry dominates the Twitter and Facebook spheres, ranking at #1 on both, though Twitter is providing the more engaging content with cross-posts from Instagram. The big engagement drivers on Perry’s Facebook are the posts promoting her concert which recently took place with Elton John and Andra Day and featuredHillary Clinton.
