Social Media Chart Wrap: December 2
The TMN Social Media 50 sees a stagnant Top 2 this week with Justin Bieber remaining at #1 for the highest engagement, ahead of Taylor Swift at #2. The first bit of movement comes at #3 as Rihanna takes a new peak up from #4 as Katy Perry drops to #4 from #3.
Between the two of them, Rihanna is seeing much higher engagement across the board while Katy Perry sees the most of hers through Twitter where she is currently ranked #1 in the world. Perryis seeing a lot of valuable engagement events (comments, retweets etc) which could give her the edge if she sees an increased volume of them. Rihanna has also sees a higher engaged percentage of her audience in the last seven days, following the hype and partnerships for her new album, including a $25m contract with Samsung. Rihanna is averaging out at 8.75% each day, as opposed to Katy Perry’s 0.88%.
The biggest difference between the two artists takes place on Twitter with Katy Perry’s 78 million followers proving to be more formidable than Rihanna’s 53 million. Katy Perry has a combined audience of 113.5 million. Rihanna sits just north of 102 million.
Demi Lovato enjoys a small move to #7 from #8, a new peak, while Pitbull lands one spot below his previous highpoint at #12 from #13. Jessie J makes it back into the Top 20 at #20 from #21 while Kendrick Lamar takes a new peak and breaks into the Top 25 at #22 from #41, the most moved on this week’s chart.
With an exceptionally high engagement rate this week its Twitter that Kendrick has to thank with a 59.65% average daily engagement rate from his almost 6 million followers.
