Smirnoff to give away over $1 million in ad placements to new Aussie artists

Smirnoff to give away over $1 million in ad placements to new Aussie artists

In a new campaign to kick off its new Mixed Berries flavour, Smirnoff Seltzer is giving away more than $1 million in ad placements to emerging Australian artists.

The Ads For Artists campaign will see placements given to a total of 12 new local artists, curated by The Jungle Giants.

While the million dollar figure pertains to the total worth of the combined ads – set to appear across billboards, YouTube, Spotify and various social media platforms – each chosen artist will also be paid a licensing fee above the APRA industry standard.

To be considered for the opportunity, bands and artists will just have to DM Smirnoff Australia on Facebook or Instagram with a link to their work on Soundcloud, Spotify or YouTube. Submissions close on December 12.

The Jungle Giants frontman Sam Hales said Australia needs its artists more than ever.

“Australia has one of the most vibrant and connected music scenes in the world. After being apart for so long, there’s never been a better time to let our music bring us back together,” Hales said.

“We’re really pumped to have the chance to give local talent a boost as we get back on our feet… It’s time to get the show back on track baby.”

Smirnoff’s Ads For Artists campaign comes after a devastating report from Live Performance Australia revealed that the country’s live music industry lost $1.4 billion in revenue throughout 2020.
