Slash and Train to perform NRL Grand Final

Former Editor

Three-time Grammy-winning band Train and Slash, who just released his third solo album, will perform at this Sunday’s NRL Grand Final.

Train, whose fifth LP Bulletproof Picasso entered the ARIA chart at #15 last week, will perform a medley of their most popular tracks including Hey Soul Sister and Drops Of Jupiter, as well as their new single Angel In Blue Jeans.

“I became a big fan of rugby league last time we were in Australia and now we get to perform at the biggest rugby League event of all!” said frontman Pat Monahan. “We feel so honored and excited to be asked to be a part of the NRL Grand Final this year. Australia is an incredible place and this is an incredible event. Thank you for having us!!”

Slash, currently in the country promoting new LP World On Fire, will take the stage without his vocalist Myles Kennedy and band The Conspirators to perform his new single Bent To Fly, which was synched with Nine Network’s promotion of the NRL Final Series.

“I’m really excited to be in Australia and open the NRL Grand Final entertainment with our track Bent to Fly. Australia is one of my favourite places in the world and I can’t wait to play at such a huge event… it’s going to be awesome.”

Both performances will be broadcast on the Nine Network from 6:30pm.

Slash is back in the country next February for Soundwave festival, while Train will return next April next year for Byron Bay Bluesfest.
