SKIPI TV taps Jasmine Rae for ‘Live On The Lot’ online music series
Australian artists have a new music-friendly online platform to help spread the word.
SKIPI TV, which describes itself as a fledgling Australian culture-orientated VOD service, has tapped multi hyphenate entertainer and three-time ARIA Award nominee Jasmine Rae as host for its series of music specials, ‘Live On The Lot.’
Initial guests include triple ARIA Award winning Superjesus singer Sarah McLeod, who stopped by for an interview and performs songs from her new solo album ‘Rocky’s Diner,’ which recently entered the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 20. Kiwi soul specialist Tami Neilson and country singer Christie Lamb are among the first-up participants.
SKIPI TV launched in January 2017 with an episode of ‘The Right Note,’ the music news and reviews show hosted by Rolling Stone editor Rod Yates, former Triple J host and Frenzal Rhomb band man Lindsay McDougall, veteran AAP journalist Danielle McGrane and former Sydney Morning Herald senior music writer Bernard Zuel.
The new service produces and posts original video content from the music space alongside works focusing on film, television, fashion, gaming, politics and sport. Rising singer and songwriter Amy Shark and Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson have also performed for SKIPI TV, which is based out of FOX Studios in Sydney.
The descriptive “fledgling” is an accurate one and its social numbers won’t blow anyone away, though any music-friendly platform with smart, experienced hands on deck ought to be welcomed.
