SideOneDummy marks 20th year, partners with INgrooves in US
PRESS RELEASE:
LA-based independent label SideOneDummy Records and INgrooves Music Group, one of the world’s leading independent music distributors, announced today that they have expanded their partnership to include worldwide distribution, music publishing and marketing services for all releases on the label. The deal was announced as the label celebrates 20 successful years in the independent music business by SideOneDummy Founder Bill Armstrong, and Amy Dietz, General Manager of INgrooves.
INgrooves and SideOneDummy first partnered in 2008 on digital albums released outside of the US, when the distributor was exclusively focused on digital distribution. Since then, INgrooves has significantly expanded its global services to include physical distribution, comprehensive marketing, as well as music publishing and neighboring rights administration. As INgrooves has developed in sync with today’s music business, SideOneDummy has also evolved by redefining their operation and brand to meet the needs of the bands they work with and put a much heavier emphasis on artist development.
"We are very excited about expanding our relationship with INgrooves to our U.S physical and digital business after being partners outside of North America for the past 7 years,” said Bill Armstrong. “Expanding our relationship feels very natural as INgrooves have been a great & reliable partner, a company we believe to be at the forefront of today's independent music community."
“Our global deal with SideOne Dummy is very exciting, and cements our collaborative relationship with this fantastic label,” said Amy Dietz. “We fully believe in their team, and we are dedicated to supporting their mission as well as the future success of their artists in as many ways as possible.”
SideOne Dummy is committed to developing artists and giving them a home. New releases coming through the label, to be distributed globally by INgrooves, will include Jeff Rosenstock’s “We Cool?” (former singer of Brooklyn music collective Bomb the Music Industry!), Timeshare with “Already Dead”, as well as a new Superheaven album expected this Spring. Their office is located in Hollywood and continues to release records from some of alternative music’s best up-and-coming bands including PUP, Restorations, Andrew Jackson Jihad, and more.
