Sia joins 2020 ARIA Awards lineup
Australian superstar Sia has joined the lineup of Aussie artists who are taking to the stage at this year’s virtual ARIA Awards.
Sia’s exclusive performance will actually take place in Los Angeles, but will go to air on Wednesday, November 25 across Channel 9 and YouTube as part of the Awards.
It has been a decade since Sia graced the ARIA Awards stage to perform, and CEO Dan Rosen said it’s a wonderful honour to welcome her back.
“In that time she has gone on to become one of the world’s biggest stars as she has taken her immense creativity and unique voice to fans around the globe. She is one of Australia’s greatest ever musical exports and we cannot wait to see the incredible performance she will deliver for this year’s ARIAs,” he said.
Sia is a multi-platinum and nine-time Grammy-nominated artist. Her 2016 single ‘Cheap Thrills’ was a global radio hit, and one of the longest-running singles to hold a Top 40 spot that year. Her YouTube channel has in excess of 9 billion views.
Her new single ‘Together’ will feature in the upcoming film Music, which was written by Sia and Dallas Clayton and marks the star’s directorial debut. It explores the themes of finding one’s voice and the true meaning of creating family.
And in October, Sia released her collaborative track and music video with David Guetta, ‘Let’s Love’. It reached 20 million streams in its first two weeks, and picked up more than 550 million views on TikTok.
Sia joins other performers already announced by ARIA including Tame Impala, Sampa The Great, Lime Cordiale and Amy Shark.
