Set Mo is all set for next phase with new management, global release deal: Exclusive
Set Mo is ready and set for the next chapter after reaching a new, global arrangement with AWAL, and signing with fresh management.
As the Sydney electronic duo (Nick Drabble and Stu Turner) prep the release of new music, they join forces with Lauren Mikkor of the Post Modern Collective for management, TIO can exclusively reveal.
At the same time, Set Mo strikes up a worldwide partnership with AWAL, the distribution and music services company.
“It has been a privilege and an honour working with Set Mo over the past few months,” says Mikkor, who has guided the careers of Running Touch, Nervo and others.
Nick and Stu “are a very welcomed addition to the roster and feel very fortunate to not only work with the guys, but the team around the project – who are arguably some of the most brilliant minds in the music scene right now,” she adds.
Also on board the management team is James Fava (Dom Dolla), TIO can confirm.
“I can wholeheartedly say the next twelve months for Set Mo will be nothing short of amazing and I’m very fortunate to have been trusted to help bring their vision to life,” Mikkor continues.
To celebrate these professional pieces falling into place, Set Mo drops the official remix of ‘Tate (How I Feel)’, a dreamy House track originally cut by Fred Again, the British singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist.

With Set Mo joining the AWAL roster, the game plan becomes an international one.
“We are hugely ambitious for what they can achieve not just in Australia but around the world,” enthuses Ben Godding, Senior Marketing Director, AWAL.
Having worked closely with Set Mo over recent years, he notes, “we are now thrilled to be partnering with them again on their next campaign. Set Mo’s new music will captivate even more audiences throughout 2022, and beyond.”
It’s a fresh start for these festival favourites, who’ve accumulated multiple gold-accredited singles, a platinum single, and sold-out national headline tours and shows across Australia, the United States and Asia.
Over the years, the lads have supported the likes of Duke Dumont, Booka Shade, MK, Fisher, Crooked Colours, SAFIA, and worked the crowds at a long list of Australian fests including Listen Out, Splendour In The Grass, and Beyond The Valley.
Set Mo released their debut full length album in 2019 with Surrender (via Set Mo Records). The LP featured elements of electronica, deep house and breakbeat and an approved, spoken-word contribution from Brian Eno on the title track and opener.
The party starters haven’t wasted precious time during these strange years of lockdown and isolation.
“We’ve spent the majority of the last two years locked away in the studio writing new music and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on,” Set Mo say in a statement.
“It really feels like the beginning of a new chapter for us. We’re super proud of the new music and are stoked to have had the opportunity to be working with a bunch of amazing people.”
When Set Mo hit the road, expect the ‘Tate’ remix to get a solid spin. “We’re massive Fred fans so when the opportunity to remix ‘Tate’ came up, we jumped at it,” they recount.
“We love the original and just wanted to make a version that would fit perfectly into our sets. We started by laying down a drum groove and bassline that we could listen to on repeat and then built out the arrangement with all the great vocals from the original. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out and can’t wait to play it at shows.”
