Samsung commissions Live at the Chapel revival

Authentic Entertainment is reviving its Live at the Chapel music program after a three-year hiatus.

On March 16 Sydney duo Angus & Julia Stone will become the first to perform Live at the Chapel since The Vines and The Temper Trap graced St Stephen's Church in Newtown, Sydney in 2012.

The return has been commissioned by Samsung Australia to launch its Milk Music streaming service. Milk Music officially launched in Australia on February 12 as a free, station-based internet radio service for its Galaxy devices.

Arno Lenior, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung, said: "Samsung wanted to find a suitable platform to launch Milk in this country, something which is synonymous with music for Australians. With its reputation as the standard for pure music expression, Live at the Chapel fits the bill perfectly. We are also thrilled to have celebrated Australian artists Angus & Julia Stone to help us create such a memorable launch for Milk in Australia."

The event, billed as Milk Live at the Chapel, also marks the first project for Authentic’s new music brand consultancy partner FRUKT Australia, which drove the partnership and strategic direction of the project with Samsung.

Greg Tremain, Head of Brand Partnerships at Authentic Entertainment said: "Live at the Chapel has carved out a well-earned reputation for producing compelling live music performances and has gained the respect of music fans, the industry and artists alike. With Authentic’s massive multi-media content distribution platform, the property offers significant exposure for brands wanting to connect with Australians through music."

Previous Live at the Chapel guests include Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Jet, Wolfmother and Foo Fighters.

Following Milk Live at the Chapel Angus & Julia Stone will perform at US festival Coachella in April, followed by shows in Europe. In January the duoscored #6 on Billboard’s Hot Tours list, sandwiched between The Black Keys and Nelly, grossing$449,207 and performing to a total attendance of 12,629.

Tickets to Milk Live at the Chapel are available via a national competition. Further information is available from the Live at the Chapel Facebook page.

Owners of a Samsung smartphone or tablet can go into the running to win one of five VIP prize packs including two tickets to the event, return flights to Sydney, transfers, accommodation and a meet-and-greet with Angus & Julia Stone. 20 runner-up prizes of a double pass to the event are also on offer.
