Sally Seltmann discusses her label, Three Of Hearts

APRA-winning singer-songwriter Sally Seltmann has launched her own label imprint, Three Of Hearts.

When asked about the inspiration behind the label name, Seltmann told TMN: "I've always been a bit obsessed with hearts. I have a heart tattoo, and it's hard for me to write a song that does not have 'heart' in the lyrics! Three Of Hearts just sounded like a good label name for me."

The label'sfirst release will be Seltmann’s nextsingleWe Are The Music, out January 20. The track was recorded in various studios across the USand Canada, with vocals recorded in her home studio in LA. The trackfeatures her husband Darren Seltmann (the Avalanches) and Canadian artists Jon Lawless (Swim Good) and Aaron Mohr.

Seltmann will also reissue her back catalogue on the label, including her releases under former moniker New Buffalo.

"I really wanted to reissue my back catalogue," Seltmann told TMN, "all my New Buffalo albums, and my 2010 release Heart That's Pounding. The rights to all of these albums have reverted to me now, for Australia and some other territories around the world. But I wanted to offer up a new single first, before I make my back catalogue available, which is why We Are The Musicis the first Three Of Hearts release."

While Seltmann said she doesn't have any immediate plans to release music by other artists, she did tell TMNshe is distributing the releases throughTunecore and local publicity is being handled by Recon.

"I'm unsure if I'll release music by other artists yet," she said."But who knows. At the moment I'm loving listening to my husband's DJ mixes he does for Dublab with Pinchy Don. They have a show called Deep Breakfast, and it's tropical disco music."
