Russell Crowe is selling 19 guitars and a $140K violin in his divorce auction

Actor and part-time musician Russell Crowe has listed a series of incredible items for auction in the first stage of his divorce auction in April.

Among jewellery, art, and an enviable list of rare sporting memorabilia, Russ has also listed a string of acoustic and electric guitars ranging from a $300 to $100,000 estimated value.

Highlights include;

  • Rare Marin 2-42 Parlour ‘Natural’ acoustic guitar (1870) with an estimated value of $50K to $100K.
  • Limited edition Gibson Elvis Presley ‘The King’ J-200 ‘Black acoustic guitar, $7K-8K.
  • A Grammer ‘Johnny Cash’ G50 Tobacco Sunburst acoustic guitar (1960s), $5-6K.

He’s also selling the violin he used as Captain Jack Aubrey in the 2003 film Master and Commander, dated 1890 and created by Leandro Bisiach Snr.

The auction price for the instrument is listed by auctioneers Sothebys as between $110,000 and $140,000.

The auction will take place on April 7 at Carriageworks in Sydney – a date significant for being both his birthday and wedding anniversary.
