Royal Headache confirm split

Royal Headache confirm split

Sydney punk rock and garage band Royal Headache have confirmed their split in a brief Facebook post reading, simply, “2008-2017”.

Their record company later explained the split took place after their last round of touring, with the final show at FYF Fest.

Tim “Shogun” Wall, Lawrence “Law” Hall, Chris “Shortty” Shortt and Joe Sukit released two albums – their self-titled debut in 2011 and High in 2015.

Shogun had, in 2014, talked about breaking up the band, but retracted his comments in Billboard a year later.

“I tend to get a big mouth in interviews,” he said. “I can’t fully remember why I left, but there was a lot of shit raining from the sky and I just felt like I wanted to get out.”

He added: “I need the guys in Royal Headache sometimes. They’re a bit less erratic than I am and I need them to help me get my shit together.

“My life always goes a little bit awry when I’m away from Royal Headache. I think I have to realise, for better or worse, they’re like these weird sort of guardian angels.”
