Rock Posters creates more sustainable street posters

Rock Posters says it is the first outdoor advertiser to use 100% recycled, post-consumer waste Australian-made paper for its street posters.

The street poster company collaborated with Spicers to source ‘Revive Laser’, a paper specifically sheeted for Rock Posters’ large-format dimensions. This will, it said, offer clients the option of printing on a greener, more sustainable paper source.

Marcus Seal, general manager of Rock Posters, said the company is fully committed to greening its business.

“By providing sustainable products and services, we are an ideal partner for like-minded artists and companies who want to provide an assurance to their fans or clients of their green credentials,” he said.

He cited artists such as Jack Johnson and John Butler who over the years have forced the system to bend to their will and in turn lessen the environmental impact of their touring initiatives.

“Rock Posters has drawn inspiration from these artists and continues to audit its own processes. So began the search for a better alternative to ‘partially recycled’ paper. A paper that doesn’t require a tree to be grown then cut down, nor shipped across hemispheres for use in Australia,” he added.

Cyndi Setia, marketing & design manager for Spicers, said Rock Posters’ use of Revive Laser paper will have a lasting and positive impact on the industry.

“Revive Laser paper is 100% Australian made and produced from 100% Australian wastepaper, which delivers better environmental and social outcomes compared to imported recycled papers,” Setia said.

Rock Posters has drawn inspiration from the likes of Jack Johnson and John Butler to become more sustainable.”Revive Laser is FSC Recycled Certified, reduces Australian landfill, creates Australian jobs, has zero freight carbon emissions, and is certified as Carbon Neutral.”
