Report: P!nk’s four shows at Perth Arena grossed US$7.6m; Aussie promoters, venues, excel in second mid-year report
The first four shows of P!nk’s current Australian tour, all at Perth Arena, grossed US $7.6 million.
A total of 59,553 tickets were sold, according to information passed to Billboard for its Boxscore tally.
The Perth shows, between July 3 and July 7 and promoted through Live Nation, followed P!nk’s US run between March to June, which grossed $100 million over 47 shows.
According to the WA government, the four dates were a real boost to the state’s economy.
Of the 59,553 tickets sold, 6,000 came from interstate or overseas, while a further 10,600 people travelling from regional Western Australia.
Sport and recreation minister Mick Murray said P!nk’s concerts have provided another shot in the arm to Western Australia’s hospitality industry.
“With one in four concertgoers visiting from outside Perth, local restaurants, hotels, bars, retail outlets and other small businesses saw millions of dollars of benefits,” he said.
“Importantly, regional WA got its share of the pie – with half of all visiting concertgoers planning to venture outside the metropolitan area as part of their trip.”
Australian Hotels Association chief executive Bradley Woods said that the visitors who came to see P!nk spent nearly $9 million.
Some hotels experienced up to 300% uplift in revenue, with the total number of room nights expected to have exceeded 11,000.
