Report: Australian charities receive donations from Harry Styles’ tour
Four Australian charities have been given donations by Harry Styles as part of his solo world tour.
The trek, which sold just under 1 million tickets over 89 shows, visited Australia in April.
Variety reported that a percentage of profits, along with donations from its global promoter Live Nation (its Australian promoter was Frontier Touring) and the GLSEN PRIDE campaign together donated $1.2 million to 62 charities around the world.
At the first Australian show, in Perth, Styles chose Can-Teen to continue its work with teenagers battling cancer, giving them and their families support.
In Sydney, it was Sony Foundation – the charity arm of all the Sony divisions in Australia including recording, publishing, computer and home entertainment – which since 1998 has raised $30 million to youth-related causes.
In the other cities, Styles chose the Melbourne City Mission for its youth work including for the homeless and the disabled and the Brisbane Children’s Hospital Foundation which helps sick kids and funding research and new equipment.
Other charities in cities around the world included cancer sufferers, refugees, food banks, world peace, youth activism, youth meeting places, children’s hospitals, children at risk and music therapy.

Variety noted that the Styles tour also helped promote the voter registration work from non-profit HeadCount, and save the equivalent of 10,000 single-use water bottles by fans and 3,200 by the band and crew.
