Record label veteran Tim Kelly has joined the AIM team
Record label veteran Tim Kelly has joined AIM in Sydney in the newly created position of Program Director for Arts and Entertainment Management.
Tim Kelly’s past roles are highly decorated having worked in major multi-nationals and independent labels in both the UK, Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Famously, Kelly was one of the founders of legendary UK indie label One Little Indian.
Prior roles include GM of Marketing, Asia Pacific at Sony Music Entertainment and GM of Marketing at Universal Music Australia. Kelly was Managing Director at Australian independent label Inertia, MD of Pinnacle Licensed Repertoire, and Head of International at renowned UK label, Rough Trade.
Further developing his chops as a music industry educator, Kelly’s new position at AIM will see him work alongside the Associate Heads of Learning and Teaching to promote, improve and deliver AIM’s degrees in Arts and Entertainment Management.
Ed St John, Chair of AIM, welcomed Tim’s appointment.

Tim commences with AIM on February 8, 2021.
AIM has recently launched an interview series called Music Industry Insights featuring the heavyweights and thought leaders of Australian music. Hosted by Ed St John, the series is filmed on Tuesday nights at AIM’s Sydney campus before a live audience and live streamed on the AIMTv YouTube channel. The interviews will also be available as a podcast.
Tonight, launching the six-part series, will be an interview with John O’Donnell, Managing Director EMI and Co-Manager of Cold Chisel.
