Rebekah Horne is Apple Music’s new country director
Rebekah Horne, the former high-flying MySpace executive, is back in the digital music space, this time running the music and services activities for Apple in Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Horne links-up with the tech giant as country director for Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Books, iTunes and the App Store in Australasia.
Horne joins Apple, the world’s first trillion-dollar company (the U.S. business’ stock has since dipped below that magical threshold), with a CV loaded with top-shelf digital experience and global leadership roles.
Previously, she was responsible for the NRL’s digital ambitions as chief digital officer and, prior to that, orchestrated Ten Network Holding’s digital strategy, also as the commercial broadcaster’s chief digital officer.
Horne was MySpace’s first Australian employee and went on to become the social brand’s GM of Europe and Australia, prior to her promotion in 2009 as managing director and senior VP of MySpace International. Two years later, she left MySpace for a key digital role at DMG Australia before joining the Google-backed e-commerce service, Topfloor, as CEO.
Before MySpace, Horne was a marketing executive with EMI and she enjoyed a brief stint at Optus.
